Have I found the answer to my brush cleaning problems?

Yep, you guessed it from the title. I'm pretty sure I've found the answer to my brush cleaning problems. I can't take the credit for this one as I heard Essiebutton speak of this product in a few of her videos. It was a product I didn't really have much interest in going out and buying because I really hate washing my brushes and it's normally a decent amount of effort to track down the things beauty bloggers from the UK talk about here in Australia. So I was pleasantly surprised when I was strolling through my local David Jones store and found a display full of Dr. Bronner's soaps! This soap was cheap (under $10) and is the first product I've ever used that has completely removed all the product/stains in my beauty blender. Prayers. Answered. Yes guys, I'm really that dramatic.

There was an array of different scents to choose from but I went with Essiebutton's suggestion of the peppermint and I've gotta agree, there's just something about the peppermint smell that just seems as though it's doing some sort of extra deep clean. As you can see in the photos below, my 217 brushes are looking amazingly white too. Dare I say I actually enjoyed cleaning my brushes this time round? It was just so satisfying to have my brushes looking brand freaking new again!

The way I used this product was by putting a tiny bit in the palm of my hand, rinsing the brush, swirling it around the soap on my hand then rinsed again until the water ran completely clear out of the brush. Super easy. There's a million different ways you can apparently use this soap too which makes it a fun product, but I'll be sticking to the brush cleaning.

Dr Bronner's products are all certified organic and certified fair trade, which in my eyes just adds value to an already great product. If you're looking for an easy way to deep clean your brushes, definitely try and get your hands on a bottle of this stuff. I'll be going back to buy a back up bottle in case they stop stocking it! Do you hate washing your brushes too? Let me know in the comments!

  3. It's good that you've found a solution! Unfortunately Dr Bronner's doesn't seem to work on getting the last bit of stains out for my foundation brushes. Cold process soap works really well for me though!

Oddly enough I love washing my brushes haha. I wash them almost every week. Beauty Blender I wash every couple of days. There's just something so satisfying about getting all the gunk out of them! :P

  8. I did hate washing my brushes until I got myself a silicone glove. Such a time saver! And it really helps you deep-clean the brushes.
