AVEDA dry remedy daily moisturising oil - review

I've been trying to grow my hair for what feels like forever as I unfortunately am not blessed with fast growing hair..... Probably made worse by the amount of times I've changed my hair colour from brown to blonde to red to blonde again.....
I've cut out basically all use of heat on my hair unless I have a special occasion, and I've more or less stopped colouring it. I feel like doing this for the last 6+ months has improved my hair a fair bit, but it has definitely been in need of some more TLC.
Now in my time I have tested countless types of hair oils and 'miracle' claiming products all to no avail. Don't get me wrong, I have hair care products I love...but just not my own wonder products.

When I was in Sydney about 2 weeks back I picked up this AVEDA dry remedy daily moisturising oil and at $40 for this 30mL bottle the decision to purchase it didn't come lightly. I was shopping in Sydney the day after being at a wedding and having curled my hair, so it was feeling extra dry at the time. I'd already coated my hair in whatever I had with me at the time but it was still looking drab and dry. I'd walked into Aveda having never tried any of their products before and not particularly having any intention to buy anything, but the girl working in their store noticed how dry looking my hair was and offered to run some of their oil through my hair for me. First things first, as a marketing student I am a sucker for great customer service. Secondly, my hair looked instantly refreshed and moisturised and freaking awesome in general. Done deal. Sold! I never see instant results with other products!

Since purchasing that day I have been using this oil once or twice a day and my hair definitely seems to have a bit of extra moisture and shine about it. Even my boyfriend has noticed how soft it feels and that says something in itself. Due to the product feeling like more of a watery consistency than an oily one, it soaks into the hair almost instantly and makes it a lot harder to put too much product into your hair - and a little goes a long way. It takes only a few drops to make your hair look and feel awesome with this product and before I forget, it smells like you are in a day spa - Cue relaxation.

I honestly just am super impressed by this product and am really looking forward to trying out more of AVEDA's products, they really seem like such a great brand as they are extremely ethically sound from what my research tells me. If you have time definitely read up about AVEDA and give them a try!

Let me know in the comments below if you have any hair growth tips as I am yet to find something to help me in that department! <3

  1. I've heard of some hair and nail tablets that you can take to make your hair grow, but I'd advice you to ask a doctor or someone before trying this! - I love your post and i am tempted to try this oil myself now - thats if they sell it in the UK :)
